We just arrived from church. There are two impressing messages in the homily time by the priest that I think very important for me.
First of all, it is about God's grace. There isn't anything happens without God's grace. We, human, can have great power, knowledge, diligence, wealth, and luck. However, everything will be impossible without graceful blessings from God as we don't have any right of what will happen. Some people might not believe in God, and I don't think that God would mind about that. Whether human beings believe in God or worship God, God is still God. Nothing can change God forever and ever. Worshipping is a human need to be grateful to God, to ask for graceful blessings, and to ask forgiveness of sins.
The second point is about the limit of humans' life. Human beings have limits in their life. One day everyone will get to the limit of life and die. Information and technology will always move forward and it seems everything has been fulfilled by the sophisticated technology. People sometimes forget that their life in this world is just in a temporary period so that people leave the Creator and the Destination of their life to give more attention for the wealth, information and technology. We, people, forget that we were just a tiny living thing created by God and one day we will die. We are not going to bring anything when we die, but we leave everything on this world including the bad and the good things from us that we have made in our life. We should humble ourselves to give our live in the hands of God.
[box] …. for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:14[/box]
Anytime we need to remember that we are created by God so that we need to live well on the right track as what God wants us to do. There is a big Latin words written on the gate of a graveyard said
“Memento Mori” which means “Remember with Death“
I cannot imagine how is the end of life will be. When we have a very limited time going to leave this world, there should have been a lot of things we need ready to leave, including all our deeds to others. On that limited time, will we still able to “pay our good deeds” to others? Therefore, we should be prepared to leave this world peacefully.
What kind of useful good deeds have we done to others?
Do you always remember God gracious accompany during our life and death?
Are you ready not too dependent towards your wealth and belongings?
How have you played your role in your life?
For most Christian (not me), we might be proud that we must be accepted in the Kingdom of God. However, how are you going to be responsible for your life to your Creator?
