I was in a very messy emotion when I received the copy of Even-Tempered Mother, written by Tabitha Philen. As I said, I am not a supermom in homeschooling and homemaking. There are a lot of time when I cannot calm down myself. Being angry is a party of uncontrolled emotion of a woman. This book is really helpful for any woman to overcome the feeling of being really angry and depression that usually leads after the rage. I can say this as I have read it and love it a lot so that I would like to share with my readers.
There are 10 chapters included in this book. They give a lot of information from the real life and hidden parts of Tabitha Philen's life to survive against being rage and depressed. It is not easy for a non medical person to share the awful experience for the sake of helping many other women overcoming the problem of rage and depression. I really give salute to Tabitha for how she has tried others by sharing some information and encouragement in this precious book.
The first chapter is about how the family and environment can shape “the habit” or “the character” of being too much emotional. Tabitha shares how it happens also with her and her young age.
Chapter two is about how difficult it is to handle the uncontrolled angry which change into rage. It shows also how this bad tempered character can disturb the household and marriage confidence.
The next chapter is about some tips for moms in rage. Here are mentioned some ways to handle the rage more logically and some support needs to get from others. There are also some information about the use of relaxation in controlling rage.
The forth chapter shows how depression can be very destructive for anyone both in physical and mental health. Depression can endanger someone's life by reaching the peak of doing suicide. The overdose use of medicine can lead into addiction and being not confident.
Some tips for depressed mom are written in the fifth chapter of this book. More care and respect toward ourselves and others can help people reduce and kill the depression itself. Giving the life to God's hands is one of them.
Chapter six gives hopes and encouragement for depressed and raged women that recovery is not something impossible. With a strong will and help from God, over raging emotion and depression will be able to recover.
The seventh chapter shows the role of spiritual belief in the recovery process. Some verses from the bible and some Christian messages are sent out in this chapter. It shows that we should hold our religious belief to get recovered.
In chapter eight Tabitha would also help any woman who has the problem of uncontrolled rage and depression with support of pray.
There are a lot of women in the world that have similar problem with rage and depression. There are some sharing about how people handle the feeling of rage and depression in chapter 9. You might see also my sharing part in this chapter.
Finally, the last chapter has some frequently asked questions in case of rage and depression in family relationship. I love reading this chapter.
There is also a bonus content with some bible verses for you to calm down your heart and mind.
It is a must have book for any woman and it is not closed for man to read. Women with some unstable hormonal system will sometimes be involved in the rage and depression condition. The most touching part of this book is how a support of husband can be very meaningful to overcome the problem of rage and depression. I don't think that this book is only for woman 😉
Thank you Tabitha for such a wonderful book that I need a lot. If you have acquaintance, friends, sister, daughter, mom, in laws, etc who has trouble controlling emotion, reading this book might be really helpful. You might also give it as a mother's day gift.
