Easter this year is very different from the previous years as kids are growing. they are more involved in most of important points in the events. Easter has been the most important event in Catholic church as it celebrate the festival of human salvation through the scarification, the death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We started the Easter with Ash Wednesday with some regular activities during the lenten periods.
We went to Palm Sunday to start the Holy Week. Ken and Tom start their entrance in our Church liturgy minister as altar servers. They haven’t been installed yet, but they started helping their senior.
We went to Maundy Thursday together. My hubby did his duty as deacon since last year. Easter cycle is his busiest time for him, so I have to handle all of the children by myself. The Maundy Thursday took almost two hours mass and this was the first one for Jim. We had to wait 1 hour ahead to get seated. Otherwise we had to sit outside. I didn’t take the picture in our church, but my dad took a picture of his church in other city:
The next day, it was only Ken and Tom that went to Good Friday. I didn’t take the picture. However, in the morning we went to the Cross Station Drama. Jim really enjoyed the drama a lot. He never stopped asking questions to fulfil his curiosity. During the mass, Ken and Tom read the whole story of the crucifixion from bible for the Passion. I am very happy that the bible study result can be seen here. I really love how they behaved.
On Saturday, everyone attended the Holy Saturday and it was a very impressing moment. We waited for the mass 1.5 hours ahead and the mass itself was almost 2 hours. None of the children asked for food. During the waiting time it was a story time about the exodus. It is great that kids have been trained to attend the worship regularly.
Finally, we would like to say to everyone who celebrate Easter
Happy Easter 2014
