The school year is started today. As usual, before it is started we always try to clean the main study room totally. That is right, we don't do total cleaning at the same time. We use to do it part by part and we try to maintain the cleaning by putting things on the right part.

Last week we have just shared our homeschooling curriculum for 2015-2016 that you might use to give more options and choices. Today we would like to share the new classroom arrangement in 2015-2016. Basically, we don't only use this room for our classroom. There are a lot of time when we use the toilet, the kitchen, the laundry, the garage, and the living room. Even the bedroom is still our classroom at night. Well, we learn anywhere.
We have changed the classroom four times during our homeschooling journey. You might want to take a look to our old classrooms to compare:
Here is the main learning area of our classroom. Since we have 3 children homeschooled for the first year, we change our learning place. Last year, we use separated tables for both of my elder children most of the time. This year, we return to the big table for me to focus at the same time.
The room is long so I could not grab the picture for all sides. Here is the other side of the room.
Let's go to a more detail parts of the new classroom arrangement in 2015-2016
We still use our locker to keep the binders for each child and to keep some private or specific books they have. We still use some binders to continue what we have not finished yet last year. We either bind the old contents or keep them altogether with the binder in the binder storage. For each of the new or renewed binder we give cover and spines based on what each boy likes. They are ready for a year use.
Finally, we could put the three sets of workboxes next to each other. We don't change the contain of the boxes like what we did when kids were younger. We also don't use all of the boxes every day. We function those boxes to arrange the individual sources, other than the binder, each of the boys has. The only subject that doesn't have any box is the world history since it is used together.
We decide to leave the big table surface empty and to put all coloring stuffs we use together in this trolley. We do really wish that this trolley will stay tidy like this. The trolley can be moved around for us to use in other place and space. Here are some things we put:
- glue, scissors, and cutter
- markers, crayons, highlighters, water color, poster paints, and alternative pencils
- mechanic pencil sharpener
- stencil rulers and brush to clean the crayon crumbs
- motivation stamps and small paper for decoration
- ink for the printer
The number of our books have grown a lot. In addition, our old glass cupboard to keep our chemical and science experiment equipment has been broken. Therefore, we decide to invest on one more bookshelf. We just moved the microscope to the locker. We also keep some stocks of blank notebooking page templates here for children to use.
Mom's Working Space
My working space is not separated from the children's room since we often look up the internet for further resources and from this place I work after they finish.
We don't use any container for their stationary in the table. We don't use the main equipment for writing together. This is one type of responsibility habit. They need to make sure that what they have had in the early of the school year is the same with the end of the year. Every day each child needs to make sure that their writing equipment are ready to use for a whole day.
The Use of Big Table
We try to use the drawer as tidy as possible. Each drawer will have:
- a Student Planner 2015 binder
- a Pencil case
- Rulers (and compasses)
- a set of coloring pencils
- a bundle of paper to count in Maths
- a clipboard to hold their weekly assignment or to do list.
- a timer
- a few personal belonging
My wish and hope right now:
