I just published my posting a couple days ago and there have been many people interested to know more about lapbooking, especially my neighbors. If you missed the previous posting about notebooking and lapbooking, please check out them here:
The more you do notebooking and lapbooking, the more stuffs in you supply list need to add up.
- Printable plain paper both white and colorful ones.
For all notebooking and lapbooking matters, I would like to use white paper when kids need to draw and color on the piece of paper. When they just need to do full writing, I would use the colorful one.
We use the 70gms paper so that it won't be too thick or too thin.
- Any other paper like origami paper, stickers, magazine clipping, etc to give more decoration to your lapbook and notebook.
- Creative plastic stencil ruler
Plastic stencil rulers can be found anywhere around most of the stationery store. It is not a basic need, but it is just a tool to get kids decorate the paper easily. For a drawing talented kids, decorating will be a blessing time, but for those who are not, decorating can be a hell. This tool will be a blessing for those who are not confident enough in drawing.
- Paper trimmer.
Maped Creativ Scissors 10-Blade Pattern Paper-Cutting Scissors Kit with Case, Two Scissor Bodies (601010)
and just straight common scissors.
We use Glue Sticks UHU ALL Purpose 20 G
We always have some stocks of colorful folders for our lapbooks. Each kid's lapbook needs around one to two folders. Our folder is a bit different from the tabbed folder It has three flaps at the top, bottom and side of the folder.
Cutter is used to cut unused flap(s) of the folder so that it will not annoy readers.
We use the both Max HD-50 to assemble the folders and MAX HD-10 to work on each mini book
- Paper Fastener
I have just known what it is recently. This is very amazing to make a wheel book. It is a circular book that have paper fastener in the middle so it can turn around and around.
We use both 2 ring and 3 ring binders for storing all notebooking pages and lapbooking folders in. The 3 ring binder is really good for keeping most of paper because it can hold the sides of the paper in three different places so that the paper will go upright most of the time. The 2 ring binder is used because it is thinner and slimmer. I cannot find any slim or thin 3 ring binder sold in stationery store so far. If you have slim three ring binder sold around, I will still suggest you choosing the 3 ring binder one.
Using the right size of binder is also important. If your folders for lapbooking is A4 sized, please pick a folio sized binder for keeping the lapbook safely.
- Duck Tape
It is used to keep the lapbooks in a binder. How to keep the lapbooks in the binder can be found in Little Homeschool in The Hill.
- Paper punch
We have both 2 holes and 3 holes paper punch to put all both notebooking pages and lapbooking folders in a binder.
- Plastic zipper pocket or pouch
This pocket will keep all of the finished mini books in one place so they won't be scattered around and lost. It is good if you can have one with holes so you can put it in a binder.
- Coloring peripherals:
We use Crayola 24ct Mini Twistable Special Effects Crayons to block white shapes. This tool is pretty clean so it doesn't make hands dirty.
- Coloring pencils
We like using Maped Coloring Pencil as it has some fluorescent colors. It also does not get dry easily.
We use Faber-Castell Pen Brush colors for some lettering purpose
- Some markers and pens to decorate and write on the pages.
Those supplies are not only great for notebooking and lapbooking, but they are also very useful for arts.
