We live in a house with a couple of families inside, my family and my sister's. Our parents stays here a lot. It is a very busy and quite noisy most of the time. Well, we started homeschool formally without any storage and special equipment at all. It was just a mini dinning table that we had. Even I don't have the picture at all as I didn't think it was something special to document. We did our schooling in the middle room where kids used to play.
When we started to be more serious with our home education, we just bought three pieces of desks and drawers for our workboxes. We share our living room function. In the morning we use the living room as our classroom, while in the evening we use the wooden chair to watch television for a short time. We don't have any cosy sofa at all as we replaced it with long wooden chair to get more people sit there to watch television. We also started equipping our open schoolroom with more tools and storages. Although we were often distracted a lot by people going around our open classroom, kids got more and more excited, while I got more and more serious.
Here are some corners of our recent open classroom:
We read together in the “wooden long chair” that keep our individual area square, perpendicular with the bookshelf. The wooden long chair is also functioned as our sofa to watch the hung up television. Very hard to sit there for a long time. hahaha…
We placed our locker where we keep individual workbooks and textbook in the dining room.
Our PC and my table are in another corner. Our piano where we sing together is next to the PC.
At the moment we are building a closed classroom over our garage. We can't wait to get it finished by next month. There are a lot of things in my mind planning the new room. Stay tuned to our posting about new classroom when it is finished.
