Hi,
Once again I took a very interesting survey about the growth oh homeschooling in the USA, what have driven it, and the outcome. It can be a lesson for many developed and developing countries, including Indonesia, my homeland.
At the moment, based on my observation which is quite subjective, I can see that homeschooling is growing a lot in Indonesia. There are a lot of Indonesian homeschool communities and blogs which are very welcoming to help each other.
Anyway, we still lack of clear and direct support from the government. All policies and laws regarding homeschooling and standardised national exams are still not clear yet. Even the understanding toward homeschooling itself is still misunderstood here, there, and everywhere. Homeschooling is often comprehended and mixed up with commercial educational institution.

Love infographics. 🙂
I’m finishing my B.S. in elementary education, our school age son goes to our local public school (which has been AMAZING. I can not put into words how fantastic and loving his teachers have been).
BUT.
All kids are different. Families are different. School districts are different. I’m all for homeschooling if that is what works best for other families. 🙂 Just be sure to buy yourself something nice at Teacher Appreciation Week!
My two elder sons are homeschooled, but the youngest one still wants to taste school uniforms.
Very interesting infographic! I’ve definitely been considering homeschooling as an option when my son is older (he just turned two), but my husband is not on board. I’ll have to save this to show him. He appreciates numbers and facts when I’m backing up an argument. LOL
I agree with the Bargain Babe’s insights. I don’t think education is a one size fits all thing. Each child and family is different. And I definitely agree that you should buy yourself something nice for Teacher Appreciation week! 🙂
We are new homeschoolers this year and I don’t see us ever going back (unless we moved back to the town we last lived in. Awesome schools and teachers.
So we are. We still enjoy the beauty of learning freedom. Have a great day.
Such an interesting infographic! I have many family members and friends who homeschool–I’m going to share this with them!
Thanks Tammy. Of course they will be happy to have many other people just have the same choice with them
My husband and I were just talking about homeschool the other day. When the time comes for our son to go to school, I’m not sure what we’ll do. Most likely it will depend on where we live, and if the public schools meet my expectations. Thanks for the infographic – very interesting!
Some people choose homeschool not because of disagreement with public school, but mostly it is about the responsibility as parents and religious matters. I mean, there are many motivations and reasons behind it too. Thanks for visiting, too.
Thanks for sharing this! 🙂
Thanks for visiting too. I hope you enjoy.
That is really really interesting. Lack of funding is a big problem in the U.S. And also a harder time dealing with kids with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities. My sister in law homeschooled her girls and I’ve known others who did it, and I never heard one complain. I do not see it in the cards for us but I am a mom who is very involved in her son’s public school education, so much so I call it co-schooling. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you for stopping by Stephanie. Indonesia, my country, should be worse than the U.S. in terms of funding :). Special need Kids would have the best main education from parents as parents mostly would love kids more than others. Even it is very distressful, parents’ direct involvement in special need Kids home education should be the best therapy.
