Watching the cover and title of this book, we can see that this is a book about women chat from hear to heart. That is it. A group of great women share their thought and experiences in this rich woman life matters of book. I am amazed how Bridget Childress, Marissa DiDomenico, April Grant, Heather Greutman, Rosilind Jukic, Misty Leask and Ren Simonitis have shared and compiled the contents of this book suitable for most Christian wife life which are arranged into order from the most important priority.
The first chapter of this book is about how Christian wives should get themselves close to God by arranging special time for God. Indeed, this is the hardest topic for me as I often break my own schedule in reading bible and private pray with God. I feel that this chapter has touched me a lot. There are some alternatives to close ourselves to the God's words, quiet time experience sharing of the writers, inspiration/tips to find time for God, and encouragement to getting closer to God through praying and reading the bible.
The second chapter is about the importance of loving our husbands as a second priority after Christ. Most wives often forget their husband as they are too busy with the household work. I really need a lot of reminder for this case constantly. This chapter has reminded me a lot.
The third chapter is related with parenting children to be close with God and to have strong characters with discipline and education. Parents are demanded to be examples for their children as this is the best way to educate. I sometimes feel tired of noticing the kids about the same things everyday. This chapter is very helpful in this case.
I was surprised that homemaking is only on the fourth priority in the fourth chapter of this book. God, husband, and kids are much more important than homemaking, although I won't never leave out homemaking matters as a housewife and it has already absorb most of stay at home mom. Homemaking is said here as a way to make our house a home for people leave in. I am so released that many people also got weaknesses in this area, but the writers encourage me to be more aware that clean house and homemaking matters would be for the sake of the family itself. There is also some tips about how to stay organized in homemaking.
I am very weak in ministering. All of my sons and my husband work at church and the cell, but I don't. Reading chapter five, my heart has been very touched to see how many people have gone out of their house to serve others in ministry and how important ministry is.
The sixth chapter is about finance. I am not a USA residence, so I have different tax laws. This chapter has some great sharing thought and tips from the writer about how to use the tax return, manage the money from husband (it would be great part for Stay AT Home Mom), enjoy your money smartly, etc. Most wives will need to read this chapter. It is not really technical, but easy to understand.
The last chapter has some great encouragement for me to be a more refreshed and better Christian, wife, and mother. Getting encouragement is very releasing for everyone.
